PURPOSE
The Public Health Team Lead provides strategic and technical leadership in the design, implementation, and quality assurance of GaneshAID’s public health programs. This role ensures that all projects are grounded in evidence-based practices and aligned with international standards and partner expectations.
The position serves as the main technical focal point for all public health–related components across GaneshAID’s global projects and supports cross-functional collaboration between Teams.
Duty Station: GaneshAID Headquarters, Hanoi, Vietnam.
Work Arrangement: While the position is based in Hanoi, GaneshAID welcomes applications from international candidates who may work remotely, with flexibility for virtual collaboration and potential field missions when required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Leadership
- Provide high-level public health expertise in project design, implementation, and evaluation.
- Lead the development of evidence-based methodologies, tools, and frameworks for health systems strengthening, disease prevention, and immunization programs.
- Ensure alignment of project strategies with WHO, UNICEF, and Gavi technical guidelines and national health policies.
- Support country teams and consultants in adapting public health interventions to local contexts.
Project Implementation and Quality Assurance
- Oversee technical components of ongoing projects (e.g., EVM, HPV, Health Financing, MLM training, etc.).
- Review deliverables (training materials, reports, assessment tools) for scientific accuracy and quality assurance.
- Lead or contribute to health assessments, situational analyses, and program reviews.
- Provide technical support to field missions and facilitate capacity-building workshops.
Knowledge Management and Innovation
- Lead the synthesis and dissemination of best practices, lessons learned, and innovative approaches.
- Contribute to the development of GaneshAID’s technical briefs, policy notes, and publications.
- Collaborate with the SMART Team to integrate digital innovations into health system solutions.
- Collaborate with the Academy Team to ensure scientific accuracy and pedagogical soundness of training content.
Partnership and Representation
- Identify emerging opportunities and thematic areas aligned with GaneshAID’s strategic vision.
- Contribute to the preparation of proposals, concept notes, and technical sections of tenders.
- Represent GaneshAID in technical discussions and stakeholder meetings with donors and partners.
- Build and maintain relationships with Ministries of Health, UN agencies, and international partners.
- Provide technical inputs for partnership development and institutional strengthening activities.
Team Management and Mentorship
- Supervise and mentor public health specialists and technical consultants.
- Support HR in defining technical competency frameworks and performance metrics for the Public Health team.
- Contribute to internal learning through regular knowledge-sharing sessions and debriefs.
QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s or higher degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Policy, or related field.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of progressively responsible experience in public health program design and management.
- Proven experience with UNICEF, WHO, Gavi, or similar international organizations.
- Demonstrated expertise in immunization programs, primary health care, or health systems strengthening.h
- Experience in multi-country project coordination and technical assistance delivery.
- Strong technical knowledge in public health, epidemiology, and health systems.
- Excellent analytical and report-writing skills.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent English and French.
KEY DELIVERABLES
- Technical guidance notes, reports, and frameworks for public health projects.
- Quality assurance of technical deliverables and training materials.
- Contributions to project proposals, concept notes, and evaluations.
- Knowledge products and evidence briefs highlighting lessons learned.
- Mentorship and technical support to project teams and consultants.
WHAT WE OFFER
- One-year contract with potential extension based on the working performance;
- Performance review once per year;
- Working time: 8:30 – 18:00, Monday – Friday (with flexibility);
- Days Off: Saturday – Sunday; holidays, New Year in accordance with Vietnam Labour Law and Christmas day;
