PURPOSE
The MEAL Specialist will provide strategic direction in designing, implementing, and institutionalizing MEAL frameworks across GaneshAID’s portfolio. This role ensures alignment with international MEAL standards, donor requirements, and organizational learning goals.
The Specialist will coordinate data management systems, and ensure that project evaluations and knowledge generation activities are rigorous, participatory, and actionable.
RESPONSIBILITY
System Development
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of GaneshAID’s corporate MEAL framework, tools, and policies.
- Ensure MEAL approaches are harmonized across projects and aligned with organizational objectives and donor expectations.
- Provide high-level technical guidance to project teams on results-based management, .theory of change, indicators, and logframe development.
- Champion a culture of evidence, accountability, and continuous learning within the organization.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Oversee project-level MEAL planning, including baseline studies, mid-term and final evaluations, and data quality assessments.
- Ensure timely and accurate collection, analysis, and reporting of performance indicators across projects.
- Develop and maintain robust data management systems (digital or manual) that enable real-time performance tracking and decision support.
- Review and validate MEAL deliverables from project teams and consultants to ensure analytical rigor and consistency.
Accountability and Learning
- Strengthen participatory feedback and accountability mechanisms with partners and beneficiaries.
- Promote learning and adaptive management through knowledge-sharing sessions, after-action reviews, and internal reflection workshops.
- Produce high-quality analytical reports, success stories, and learning briefs for internal and external dissemination.
Representation and Coordination
- Represent GaneshAID in external technical working groups, donor consultations, and partnership meetings on MEAL-related topics.
- Contribute to business development by supporting proposal design with MEAL frameworks, indicators, and evaluation methodologies.
QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Statistics, Development Studies, or related field.
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in MEAL, including at least 3 years in a senior or advisory role.
- Proven experience designing and implementing MEAL systems for health or development projects funded by international donors (e.g., GAVI, UNICEF, WHO, USAID, EU).
- Demonstrated experience in both quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods.
- Strong analytical, statistical, and data visualization skills (e.g., Power BI, Kobo, DHIS2, or similar).
- Full working proficiency in French AND English.
- Strategic thinker with ability to translate data into actionable insights and advocacy messages.

- One-year contract with potential extension based on the working performance;

- Working time: 8:30 – 18:00, Monday – Friday (with flexibility);
- Days Off: Saturday – Sunday; holidays, in accordance with Benineses Labour Law.
