JOB PURPOSE
The primary purpose is to coordinate efforts between healthcare providers, government agencies, and community organizations to improve vaccine coverage and strengthen healthcare infrastructure. This position oversees logistics, stakeholder engagement, data management, and policy compliance to enhance service delivery and address challenges such as vaccine supply chain issues, community awareness, and workforce capacity to create a resilient and efficient health system.
PROJECT DURATION
Approximately 12 months
RESPONSIBLITY
Project Development, Planning and Implementation
- Draft necessary strategic documents concerning project design, planning and implementation.
- Implement project action plans.
- Undertake day to day management of the project, including smooth project implementation, efficient use of resources.
- Manage the project budget.
- Provide technical and administrative coordination of the project components.
- Support developing Terms of Reference (if any) for project consultants/experts hired on a short-term basis and ensure proper delivery of technical services and submission of technical and other reports.
- Ensure the participation and involvement of relevant stakeholders in project activities, so that the process is inclusive, participatory and transparent.
- Ensure the timeliness and quality of the outputs as well as timely preparation of reports on achievements and challenges faced within the project.
- Ensure delivery of resources and results according to planned targets.
Monitoring, Information Gathering and Evaluation:
- Actively participate in all aspects of planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and project closure with emphasis on checking levels of implementation and re-orienting the operation as appropriate.
- Facilitate regular flow of information and conduct research as required.
Capacity Building & Technical Assistance:
- Support the organization of workshops, seminars and activities.
Qualifications, competencies and experiences:
- An advanced university degree (master’s or higher) in Public Health, Epidemiology, Public Administration, Social Policy, Social Development, Community Development, or other relevant disciplines.
- A minimum of 05 years of relevant professional experience at the national and international levels in planning, programming, implementation monitoring and evaluation of health/Immunization programmes.
- Developing country work experience or field work experience.
- Strong communication (oral and written), negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in working with local stakeholders and in international organizations or in a multicultural environment, preferably with a health or development focus, is desired
- Good English and Portuguese or French command (both written and spoken).
