What is STEP 2.0?

STEP 2.0 Cambodia
STEP 2.0 Djibouti
STEP 2.0 Pakistan
STEP 2.0 Vietnam

The jointly coordinated STEP programme, also known as STEP 2.0, is a professional development tool that is specifically tailored to the needs of health supply chain leaders and managers.
Crucially, it blends elements of self-paced learning, facilitator-led training, on-the-job application of leadership skills, and coaching support. What makes it particularly unique is that it pairs public sector supply chain managers – the delegates – with private sector supply experts – the coaches.
As a Gavi’s Validated Implementing Partner (VIP), GaneshAID has been supporting the implementation of STEP 2.0 in Cambodia, Djibouti, Pakistan, and Vietnam, in close collaboration with Gavi, UNICEF, PtD, and IFPW.

This is where STEP 2.0 is different!

What makes STEP 2.0 unique is the partnership between the public health sector and private sector companies: the private-sector healthcare experts (the coaches) provide training in the non-technical (soft) leadership, skills, and competencies needed to allow supply chain managers (the delegates) to better fulfil their roles.

The journey of your leadership development

This scale-up demonstrates the flexibility and effectiveness of STEP 2.0, as well as GaneshAID’s capabilities and commitment to localizing the international capacity-building program across diverse linguistic, institutional, and cultural contexts

Who is STEP for?

A well-performing health system relies on well-trained and motivated health workers. The health supply chain worker is often overlooked, but it is precisely this worker that is responsible for ensuring that health commodities reach patients.
This is where STEP 2.0 comes in. STEP 2.0 combines traditional learning with on-the-job training to give health supply chain managers guidance in people management, problem-solving, communication, project management, and professional development competencies, knowledge, skills and abilities.
What makes STEP 2.0 unique is the partnership between the public health sector and private sector companies: the private-sector healthcare experts (the coaches) provide training in the non-technical (soft) leadership, skills, and competencies needed to allow supply chain managers (the delegates) to better fulfil their roles.

Let’s STEP into action!

In the process of scaling up STEP 2.0, the country’s willingness to take STEP is crucial to the implementation of the programme and the improvement of health supply chains in the country.
