In order to support WHO & UNICEF immunization supply chain Hub to achieve its vision and support governments to have functional national logistics working groups in place, there is need to understand the status quo at country level and to identify gaps in the existing guidance to improve. This document therefore outlines the current situation of national logistic working groups in 43 countries. In terms of their availability, functioning, scope of work and official status in countries.
The overall objective of the study is to prepare an action plan for establishing and reinforcing national logistics working groups.
The study analysed the data from 43 countries including 35 countries participated in the online survey, 6 countries interviewed and 2 countries both surveyed and interviewed.
The study maps three categories of countries: Country with formal NLWG; Country with informal NLWG; and Country without NLWG.
The needs for establishment or reinforcement of the NLWG in each country is identified in the analysis study which enables relevant agencies to have an overview and evidence for decision making to improve the immunization supply chain at country level.
